Due to the extremely cold weather expected in the area in the coming days, and throughout the winter season, Allied Churches of Alamance County will provide temporary shelter for individuals and families that do not have adequate sources of heat. The Allied Churches facility, located at 206 North Fisher Street in Burlington, NC will serve as an emergency warming shelter for anyone in need.
Per ACAC’s Inclement Weather Policy, when temperatures drop below 35*, ACAC has beds available for those in need. Registration for inclement weather bed assignment will begin when the temperature falls below 35* on a given night. Check out will occur at 6:30 a.m. each morning. Those needing assistance will need to bring identification and their own prescribed medication. No food will be allowed from the outside as Allied Churches provides onsite food from the community kitchen dinner service.
